We are pleased to inform you that the Ridgefield Police Department is organizing it's 2024 Junior Police Academy for boys and girls who are Ridgefield residents and entering grades 6-8.

The purpose of this academy program is to build a positive relationship between the Ridgefield Police Department and the youth of the community, as well as encourage good citizenship through criminal justice education and positive interaction.

The program's objective is to give local youths an overview of law enforcement through an enjoyable, educational and disciplined format.

Applications must be completed and returned to the Ridgefield Police Department NO LATER THAN MAY 17TH, 2024. Young people interested in becoming an academy cadet are encouraged to complete the application and drop off to Police Officer Gregory Anastassatos, Police Officer Digna Mendez or Police Officer Ali Huda at the Ridgefield Police Department (700 Shaler Blvd, Ridgefield, NJ 07657).

THIS YEAR'S ACADEMY WILL RUN FROM MONDAY JULY 8th - FRIDAY JULY 12th, WITH A GRADUATION ON JULY 13th, AND BE LIMITED TO 35 STUDENTS.

Cadets will be expected to attend the academy every day, as well as a graduation on July 13th. If you cannot attend every day of the academy please do not apply.

Parents should be aware that some physical exertion will be required to participate and paramilitary discipline will be practiced. A MANDATORY information night will be held for parents whose children are selected to participate.

***If your child is selected, there is a $100.00 fee per cadet - Checks/Money Orders payable to the Borough of Ridgefield. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED***
